HOW TO CURATE THE 'PERFECT' INSTAGRAM FEED

FROM NEUTRAL FEEDS TO POPS OF COLOUR HERE ARE SOME TIPS AND TRICKS ON HOW TO CURATE THE PERFECT INSTAGRAM FEED AND CREATE AN AESTHETICALLY PLEASING CONTENT TO ATTRACT FOLLOWERS IN THE PROCESS...

I have decided to be 100% active on my instagram now for about 2 months and I have recently been getting a lot of questions regarding my content and how I create my aesthetics. Now I just need to also say that I am not an expert - but I have been around for quite sometime and have also dedicated a great part of my studies to social media & Influencer Marketing. You guys also need to know that there is no right or wrong in the content creation game, the whole point is that you get to create your vision and show the world how you perceive yourself through your aesthetics.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY

Creating a consistent image of colours and shapes is very important in the colour palette scheme. I am all about the neutrals as you know and I find it easier to create a consistent neutral content. Sticking to a certain colour palette is the way forward here. I chose 5 colours for my feed which allows me to play around my images (black, grey, white, beige, green). I have been dressing around neutrals for a long time and it has been my go to for outfits, therefore it made sense for me to adopt it on my feed.

Find that style that reflects to you and your personality whether that is bright, pastel or neutral colours. I try and take my content in neutral backgrounds as well, as it helps me when I edit my pictures to ensure consistency. Reducing saturation always seems to help, but editing your images can only reduce so much. Also you do not want your image to look too edited, just enough to match your content.

                 HOW TO EDIT YOUR IMAGES

Let's not hide around the bush here, most of us have bought presets before and don't get me wrong they do wonders but they just don't do the trick just right. I have made my own presets and I have also used external editing apps to fix the filters. When you try and create content with presets its just not going to work. Each picture is unique. A lot depends on the lighting, different exposures, black and white tones and other compositions, so therefore applying a standard preset won't work. Those compositions won't change with the preset and it will just give the completely opposite result.

I recently downloaded the TEZZA APP, which has been created from professional photographer Tezza Barton. I have been using the app for quite sometime now and from playing around I have been able to find the way I want my pictures to look. At the editing tab I use the Vintage filter and I set it down between 10-15 (I normally go for 12) depending on those compositions mentioned above. For me it works in every image and has helped me create that consistency as well.

                                        PLAN AHEAD

There is nothing most satisfying than creating content that makes you feel good about posting. As important as it is to have aesthetically pleasing images, the same applies when you plan your content ahead. I plan my feed ahead like 2 weeks in advance and get start inspo for the month ahead. When you also have a full time job you cannot always rely on day to day content creation. You can plan for shoot days of outfits and then integrate your Inso around it.  There will also be last minute shots, so planning your feed in advance will help you incorporate those last minute captures and still have an aesthetically pleasing content.
